Xiaomi's Bold Step ! , No Headphone Jack!?

Last year, Xiaomi had released the long awaited Mi 5, which sadly was a disappointment to the market. The next iteration to their flagship line up, the Mi 6, has been leaked already with some interesting revealings.

Mi 6: Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is reported to be housing the Snapdragon 835 CPU. It is the latest flagship CPU by Qualcomm, octa core which was running at 1.90GHz for the test. It will also be the Adreno 540 GPU and 6GB RAM, running on Android 7.1.1.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to feature a 5.15-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 (FHD). A 19MP camera will adorn the back of the unit, and an 8MP selfie snapper is on the front of the handset. And powering all this will be a 3200mah battery.

Mi 6: Geekbench Score leaked!

On Geekbench’s single-core test, the Xiaomi Mi 6 managed to score 2006 while it tallied a high 6438 multi-core score. In both tests, the Mi 6 managed to beat the Samsung Galaxy S8, which managed to post single-core and multi-core scores of 1916 and 6011, respectively. The Mi 6 also outperformed the Samsung Galaxy S8+, which scored a single-core test result of 1929 and a multi-core test result of 6084. It should be pointed out that the specs of the Galaxy S8+ are the same as those for the Galaxy S8 except for the larger screen and the larger capacity battery used with the former.

Mi 6: Leaked Photos

The Chinese website, Weibo has come up with a bunch of leaked photos serving all the speculations and answering all the answers. The Mi 6 will be having a larger home button which will be housing the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This home button is supposed to be embedded inside the display and won’t be clickable. Instead it will provide an haptic feedback. This feature was first seen on the iPhone 7 followed by the Galaxy S7, and now the Mi 6. Mi 6 will be having a ceramic body to boast it’s premium design. According the fresh rumors, it will also be IP67 water and dust proof certified. On the top, it will be having the IR Blaster, on the sides, the power buttons, the volume keys and the SIM tray. On the bottom it will be having the speaker, microphone and the USB type-C port. Xiaomi did a brave move by getting rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack, and instead will be using the USB C port for audio via headphones.

The prices will be higher due to the new features like IP 67 water resistance, iris scanner, a ceramic body and dual cameras, . This standard edition (4GB+64GB) will cost around 2199 Yuan ($219 USD) (20 601.84 Indian Rupee) and the Mi 6 Plus (6GB+64GB) will cost you 2,699 Yuan ($392 USD) (25286.22 Indian Rupee)
