5 Reasons Why You Should Wait For The OnePlus 5!

OnePlus 5 Leaks, Specs, Launch Date, Release Dates and more

Major players in the smartphone industry like Samsung and LG have already unveiled their flagship phones for 2017. Samsung's Galaxy S8, LG G6, and even Xiaomi's 2017 flagship- the Mi 6 are great phones, to begin with, but should you pick them right away? Not just yet, we suggest. Some flagships are yet to be revealed, including the 10th Anniversary iPhone and the insanely anticipated OnePlus 5.
In this post, we present to you five reasons (or five features of the OnePlus 5) which will make you want to wait for the 'Flagship Killer'! So, let get on the list right away!

1. The latest and the beefiest internals!

OnePlus have started a tradition of putting overkill specs on their phones. The OnePlus 5 won't be an exception. It's believed to have the latest and greatest processor from Qualcomm at present- the Snapdragon 835, that's powering both the S8 and the Mi 6. Also, the phone will supposedly have 8 freaking Gigabytes of RAM. Even some pricey PCs come with RAM less than that! If that's not enough, there also is going to be memory expansion via MicroSD (hopefully)!

2. Dual Cameras

The rear camera on the OnePlus 3 and 3T was pretty good. It could take beautiful pictures and videos alike, and the recent Oxygen OS updates have only made it better, with improved EIS. With the 5, OnePlus is most probably making a switch to the trending dual camera system for the rear. The implementation is supposed to be quite similar to the iPhone 7 Plus and the recently launched Mi 6; which means one lens would be there for the wide angle shots, while other would be the telephoto lens. Rumors also suggest that both the cameras will have 23MP for the pixel count and will be equipped with 4-axis OIS. This will be the first time OnePlus implements a dual camera system, and we can't wait to see what the cameras can do.

3. Dash Charge 2.0

If Samsung and Apple were jealous of OnePlus for some features, Dash Charge, or as we like to call it, 'Dash Smoking Fast Charge' would be on the top of that list. Over 60% of charge in just 30 minutes is already too fast and feels ahead of time even by 2017 standards. Now imagine 70% charge in 30 minutes and 100% charge in under an hour, without the device heating up! That's what OnePlus would be aiming for with the second generation of Dash Charge, which is expected to be present in the OnePlus 5!

4. New Build & Design

OnePlus have been particularly good at designing their phones, though only the OnePlus One was a breath of fresh air when it comes to choice of materials (read: Sandstone). The OnePlus 2, X, 3 and 3T have been more-or-less boring regarding the looks and build. That's set to change with the 5 as the phone is supposedly going to have a high screen-to-body ratio. That means smaller bezels on the front. The fingerprint sensor could also be moved to the rear of the phone to allow the sleek bezels. This hints for a new design as OnePlus are not known for copying design.

5. Value for Money

Of course, we would see an increase in the price this year too, but it's happening with every other flagship as well. Still, we know that the OnePlus 5 would be half as expensive as the other flagships (the Galaxy S8, for example) and would bring nearly the same (or better) specs and performance. Xiaomi has priced it's Mi 6 very aggressively this time, and OnePlus would definitely want to take over Xiaomi. So, expect a very aggressive pricing for the 5; which ultimately means terrific value for money. We've covered the expected pricing in another post which you can read here so we wouldn't re-write them.

Do tell us your thoughts about Oneplus 5 and which one you will be choosing ?
